new generation = new way of transport ?!
According to this article on GOOD, the Millennial generation is less willing to depend on cars for transportation and is more incligned to choose for public transport and walkable neighborhoods.
If this is tendency holds out, it will influence real estate prices, urban living preferences and have a displacement effect on lower-income residents.
One of the answers on these developments is changing zoning laws.
But is that enough? Are there other options?
Still, the decision makers are from another, more car-oriented generation; how to influence them in suppporting the preferences of the Millennial generation, and at the same time support sustainable cities?

Lilia Blades from Kenya, 13 July 2012I read a similar article some time ago. I agree that young people are less willing to buy a car than the previous generations, provided that they have choices, and in my opinion, the issue of choice is also linked to education. Educated youth with different mobility options will make better mobility choices. Unfortunately, in cities in developing countries, those conditions are not there for the youth.
