Professor KK Pandey, 24 July 2012We have now accepted slums as a reality and also that they have extremely positive contribution in the productivity of cities.It is also recognised that better facilities and amenities will further enhance productivity.
There are different strategies to take up in situ development of slums.it is rarerly done to shift them to a new site.It is done in case land is essentially ment for some public provision.Therefore,government or private land has to be used to accommodate slum dwellers.
