Mobility challenges facing the disabled and elderly
Most of existing travel pattern survey/studies do not consider the mobility challenge of the old people within cities. It is high time special consideration is given to the way and manner old people move about cities and their major challenges.
Professor KK Pandey, 8 June 2012Yes I agree.Our city planning in India has ignored due attention on footpath which are not senior citizen friendly.In most cases the entry points do not have slops to enter without hurdle.Similarly vehicular movement does not give due regards to pedatrians among cities in south asia.These aspects need immediate attention as it also builds attitute and culture among youger generation.
